Major Training Event
BC-IAAI will be hosting our major Fall training event in in September 2023 in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
Attendees at our major Fall Training event include members of fire departments, law enforcement, insurance professionals, and private fire investigators/forensic engineers.
This year, along with the normal training for BC-IAAI members, there will also be a separate day-long training event for members of the Insurance Institute of BC, who will get to experience live burns and see forensic investigation by the trainees in action.
Dates and schedule:
September 25, 2023 to September 29, 2023(full training)
September 28, 2023 (Insurance Institute 1-day seminar)
Location:
Chilliwack (classroom sessions) and Abbotsford (burn cells), BC, Canada
Benefits:
Participants will be provided over 30 hours of tested training in topics ranging from fire cause determination to fire scene safety and various case studies. This includes the newly-included witnessing of a live burn to see fire propagation and hands-on investigation of ‘burn cells’ (specially constructed rooms set on fire based on real-life scenarios). This is also an excellent opportunity to network with other fire investigators around the province, share knowledge and experience, and learn about available resources.
Fee:
$1095 for members, and $1195 for non-members
(membership is still only $40, so becoming a member is recommended!)
